How long have you been in business?

Glen & Lois Long started our Northville based plumbing company in 1949. We added our remodeling service when we moved to our current location in 1974.

Who will be assigned as project manager for the job?

Your designer is your single source of responsibility for your entire remodeling project.

Does your company carry workers compensation and liability insurance?

Yes, we carry $2,000,000 in General Liability Insurance.

What percentage of your business is repeat or referral business?

We believe that established companies are established for good reason; their past clients say good things about them.

Our business has been built on this notion and the great majority of our business comes from repeat and referral business from our valued clients..

Are you a member of a national trade association?

We have been an active member in numerous industry organizations since we began in 1949. We strongly believe that in order for us to exceed your expectations, we need to continually improve our knowledge and skills.

We also find it very important to stay current with new products, techniques and building codes and so that your job is done right.

With these beliefs in mind, we belong and our employees are active in the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) as well as several national plumbing/heating/cooling associations.

Do you have experience with jobs such as mine, and can you provide me with a list of references of those jobs?

We are also happy to provide you with a list of clients who will discuss (via phone or e-mail) their remodeling experience with Long’s.

What hours does the remodeling crew work?

Our remodeling professionals usually start their day by arriving at your home between 7:30-8:00am. They usually end their day by cleaning up the jobsite and leaving around 3:30-4:00pm. If they need to leave your job site for any reason – your project manager will let you know in advance.

Do you have your own crew for some of the work, or do you rely solely on a stable of subcontractors?

For the majority of our work we rely on our in-house remodeling professionals. If the job requires a certain specialty contractor, we have a select number of trusted professionals that we work with.

How many other jobs will you be working on simultaneously with mine?

On average, we have 2-3 jobs running at any given time.

When would you be available to start the project, and how long do you estimate it will take?

Once you sign your remodeling contract we will be able to provide you with an estimated start date based on two main factors.
1. Our current workload.

2. The arrival dates of your materials. On average materials take 3-6 weeks to arrive and be inspected.

Do you offer financing?

Yes! We have partnered with GE Money to provide financing options to our clients. Please see our financing page for more information and the options that are available.

Are you a full service remodeling company?

Yes! We work hard to perfect every skill that we offer so we are not only full service, but experts at is as well
